Welcome to Practical Paws, a web-space devoted to practical items for dogs and for people who love dogs.

What kind of things will you find on our site?  

• practical items (like winter coats) for short-haired dogs (terriers in particular) but we're not so snobby as to overlook the stylish yet cold chihuahuas, dachschunds and others who need the best in clothing that our Mom can sew
• recipes for our favorite treats and food (we've been fed Biologically Appropriate Raw Food since we were wee pups in arms) but every good dog deserves a treat now and then
• a Practical Paws handbook - Mom is constantly searching the wild wild web for interesting (and practical) information for dogs and their people 

Mom's standards for what makes something practical is simple -- dog clothes that come apart, toys that can be destroyed in 10 seconds (or less) and anything that she wouldn't use herself (that includes information on anything doggy related) simply isn't practical so you won't find anything like talked about here.  Mom also isn't going to deliberately provide links to breeders (good, bad, puppy mills or otherwise) unless they are someone (like Gramma) who Mom has met in person.
